The American Legion Post 108 in Cheverly was first organized in 1933 and completed in 1941; built by post members of materials collected from Rock Creek Park, the East Wing of the White House, a bridge in Washington, DC, the McLean Mansion, and contains old doors from the U.S. Supreme Court. The post family currently has over 450 members and sponsors Boy Scout Troop 257and Cub Scout Pack 257.
Since our charter in 1933, the Cheverly American Legion Post has been welcoming VETERANS from all branches of our Armed Forces. Today, we continue to welcome all military personnel serving our country. Joining our Post enables you to continue serving your God, Country and Community. Our mission is to implement the goals, aspirations, dreams, peace and blessings for our country, friends and families embodied in our preamble below.

The Cheverly Legion hosts special events open to the entire community. Enjoy larger events with live music included in the "108 Music Series" or join us in the Dug Out bar for holidays. Many of the events are family friendly and special accommodations are made to provide kid friendly snacks and drinks. Some events may require a cover charge or reservation. Just check the events calendar for what is happening next at the Cheverly Legion.
Community organizations, companies, and non-profits are all welcome to engage with Cheverly Legion to jointly host other special events to raise awareness or funds, or simply just celebrate together.

The Ross-Tayman Hall is available for your event. The Hall, along with a separate parking lot, is located at the rear of the Cheverly American Legion. The Ross-Tayman Hall is available for your event. The Hall, along with a separate parking lot, is located at the rear of the Cheverly American Legion. There is a full bar, stage and restroom facilities. It can handle up to 240 people for your banquet functions, such as parties, weddings, as well as walk-through affairs, such as job fairs, health clinics, etc.
For rental information, please fill out our inquiry form. Post 108 business hours are from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday through Friday. Hall tours and signing of the Rental Agreement are BY APPOINTMENT ONLY. Weekend and morning appointments on a limited basis.
